This Story unfolds on the Shore
Of the waters I opened the door to see
The Irish winds howled....
Unveiling memories
Stepping through I walked
to the ridge up high
Away from home......
The clouds started to furrow
from the burrow of the storm that was to come
With the wind and wrath of the stormy asp
The ship that sailed afar
I looked up and saw
with love of all
A falling star that passed
Yes, I on the ridge
Could hear the shudders
Of the sea that said
"The storm is coming so do your running
or else you will be the dead"
This horror did not reap
a sound amid my torrid soul
For I wished to die
That sallow night
As the yellow moon took notes
You see I had but
slaughtered the one...
The love within my heart
And what is it that a girl should do
When her soul is tied to knots?
Yes, Love was dead
He said it so...
And I a weakling in dispair
took to the cliffs with rage
I stood the stage
But guts I had them not!
I looked away out on the sea
the ship amid the salt
And worse than mine my horror shined
The ship had come to halt!
And I the weakling in despair
Saw horror before my eyes
The ship of thieves
who knew my dreams
Was just about to die!
The wretched clouds belched
with thunder, The yellow moon
went hiding...
And in the air there flew a flare
to signal help in the night!
I with my trite dispair of love
from another
I fled for help
Tripping along the stone trail
Glancing all the while
at the ship floating on
The Horizontal Sea
For the lives of many
Would perish...as a memory
Up I scaled the stairs of the light house
Screaming" Help, Distress , Distress...
Please help....they have signaled the air...
And looking at the ship I saw distress anew
and horror rose beneath my throat
But then I saw the rescue crew!!!
Half out to sea
Prepared to bleed
For those that no one knew!
And while I watched I thought
Back to myself and my problems
I thought I had and realized I was
Just one person but with a life like
no one else!
For I with my problems of love
from another
Some had it far worse than me
And I started to smile
As I thought for a while
The ship was saved
and the ship saved me
Of the waters I opened the door to see
